The timeless jacket is patterned after our archival Mackinaw Wool jacket from the 1990s, in fabric that replicates the material of vintage U.S. Navy deck jackets. This Bedford cord fabric is tightly woven with a fine, distinct vertical cord that provides thickness, body, and durability. Bedford cord is similar to ultrafine-wale corduroy, with a harder, uncut surface. This variation of that classic fabric became known as Jungle Cloth for its widespread use in warm-weather military operations where toughness was paramount.
Cut at waist-length, this ruggedly simple jacket uses virtually unbreakable metal snaps for the front closure and adjustable cuffs. The flap-covered cargo pockets feature hidden side-entry hand pockets. Cotton corduroy lines the cuffs and pocket flaps. Unlined with a spread collar.
